Fall Class Schedule below - including a new 4-week evening format for the Beginning Lampworking Class! I am now teaching glass beadmaking classes in my studio! My studio is fully equipped with 4 propane/oxygen fueled torches, a kiln, tools and glass rods. Class descriptions and schedule are below. Contact me about private instruction, renting torch time, or scheduling group classes. ![]() · Beginning Lampworking: Glass Beadmaking on the Torch: This is a comprehensive beginning lampworking course. Learn about safety, lampworking and beadmaking equipment, glass properties, beadmaking techniques and annealing. Using table-top oxygen/propane fueled torches and soft glass, students will learn to make beads of various shapes; how to use shaping, raking and poking tools; surface decoration; pulling stringers; basic encasing, and simple cane-making. Class size is small, so every student gets use of their own torch and plenty of individual attention from the instructor! Two-day workshop December 13 & 14, 2008, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm; or Four-week class Monday evenings October 27 - November 17, 2008, 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm, register through the ArtSchool at The ArtsCenter. · Private Instruction: Learn advanced techniques with individualized instruction. Must have completed a beginning lampworking class. $35/hr. · Hourly Studio Time: Hourly studio time available after completion of the beginning lampworking class. $10/hr or $80 for 10 pre-paid hours. |
